Open Evenings on the 19th November 2014

Here at Holyrood Nurseries we realise that it can be challenging for families to arrange to visit our nurseries during working hours. Our goal is to be more assessable to working families, we aim to do this by offering a time slot in the evening for you to come along to visit us.

We will be trialling our very first open evenings on the 19th November 2014, between 6-8pm, at our Holyrood Gin Pit and Holyrood Salford nurseries. We would love you to come along to meet our nursery managers, Becky Thomson at Gin Pit and Becky Lowthian at Salford, and have a look around their nurseries. Please feel free to bring along friends and family, everyone is welcome. If you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact us on 0800 111 4954. We hope to see you on the night!

30 million words @Holyrood Altrincham

We are passionately excited about our recent re-launch at Holyrood Altrincham. Our newly named nursery, Holyrood Altrincham 30 Million Words © is launching on Saturday 4th October, there will be lots of activities on offer and opportunities to find out more information about our fantastic nursery! We would love you to come along and see for yourself.

30 Million Words © is an initiative originally set up by the University of Chicago based on a world-famous study by researchers at Rice University in the USA, Betty Hart and Todd Risley (1995). The study found that children in a language-rich environment hear thirty million more words by the time they are four than children in a language-poor environment.

We have decided to develop this concept within our nursery, we strive to offer a language rich environment where your child’s development is at the centre of everything we do.

Have a peek at our EXCELLENT parent recommendations on 🙂

Review of Holyrood Day Nursery Castleton 2013 by Amiee Hogg (Mother of 1 & 2 year old boys)Excellent care and good staff.
Review of Holyrood Day Nursery Salford 2013 by Tracy Nichols (Mother of child)We have been very impressed with the high standards of the nursery. Everything from the building facilities, set up and staffing is excellent. There is great attention to detail and the staff are helpful, friendly and most importantly very attentive to the children.
Review of Holyrood Day Nursery Salford  2013 by Claire Mcdougall (Mother)All 3 of my children have attended Holyrood Salford and it is brilliant. My children love the staff as do I!! They have a fantastic curriculum and I love the fact my children get the opportunity, weather permitting, to go and play outdoors, and have lots of activities to participate in the classroom.
Review of Holyrood Day Nursery Bury  2013 by Joanne Scott (Mother of child)I recommend this nursery as my daughter has been coming here since she was 2. I noticed a difference straight away. She settled in really well and has become a very confident little girl ready for school. I’m sure she’ll miss her friends and the staff here.
Review of Holyrood Day Nursery Bury  2013 by Claire Lockhart (mother of 4 year old girl)My daughter has attended since she was 1 year old. She has been supported, nurtured and most of all cared for. The staff have a genuine interest in my daughter and in making the most of her time with them. She is always very excited by the activities she does. I have also built a very good relationship with the staff and we will miss them all when she leaves to start school.
Review of Holyrood Day Nursery Bury 2013 by Ummrana F (Mother of 2 year old son)Since the first time I went to this nursery I fell in love with the atmosphere. Very child friendly, spacious rooms, lots of age related activities, friendly staff. One to one child development plan. In one week my little boy settled in so well he didn’t want to come home, and he looks forward to everyday to go to nursery. He has learnt so much, like routine manners in such a short time.
Review of Holyrood Day Nursery Bury  2012 by Claire Turner (Mother of 4 & 2 year old boys)Both my boys have attended Holyrood from being tiny babies. The continuity of care is excellent with the same staff looking after both my boys. My children both have specific nutritional needs and this has been catered for. The boys love attending the setting and ask at weekends if it is nursery day.
Review of Holyrood Nursery Swinton  by Neil R (Father of 3 year old girl)My eldest daughter went to this nursery after we had been dissatisfied with others she had attended. We were so happy with the level of service and support we received from the team there, it was a forgone conclusion that her younger sister would go there. The eldest still goes to holiday club there. Both girls have blossomed and their confidence has grown under the guidance of the Holyrood team. We trust them implicitly, with that which has the greatest value in our lives.
Review of Holyrood Nursery Swinton by Mark and Farah Mclaren (Parents of two boys aged 2 and 6 year old)The reason we are recommending Holyrood Nursery Swinton is that the service provided is 2nd to none. We have been parents at the nursery since 2007 and currently have a 2 year old in lower tweenies and a 6 year old at holiday club and after school club. Both boys have attended since being 6 Months old and they love it and we as parents also love the fact that our children are happy and are cared for so well. All their needs are met and they are both more advanced than other children their ages in all aspects of their development. Their social skills are excellent and they enjoy interacting with the other children. The provision provided for physical, imaginative, cognitive and creative play is so varied and exciting that the children are never bored. The outdoor play provision is amazing and so is the sensory room. Parental involvement is always encouraged with parents evenings, meet and greet etc. Daily you are given a sheet with what your child has been doing this includes what they have eaten, when they slept, what they did and even down to how many times they have been to the toilet, for us this was so informative that we could continue with their routine at weekends. We also receive observation sheets and ideas for play at home. The nursery is extremely multicultural and the children begin their life appreciating and learning about different cultures, faiths and religions for us this was paramount as our children are from a dual heritage. Hayley the manager runs the nursery so well that the turn over of staff is low and the staff seem to want to be at work and are given ample opportunity to progress with their training, which in turn is reflected in the care our boys receive. Hayley’s team carry her enthusiasm and professionalism especially in Donna her deputy manager, we could go on and on about the staff but we still wouldn’t do them enough justice they definitely are a credit to Hayley and the Company. They also have a teacher based at the nursery who helps staff with planning which in turn allows all activities for children to be age appropriate or developmental appropriate enabling children to progress at their own speed. Food wise I wish we could have all our meals at nursery as they are all home made freshly cooked/baked so much so that we want Kath and Anne to move in with us. Our children are the least fussiest eaters ever and they will try absolutely anything. The only downfall is nothing we cook compares to Kath’s cooking!!! We could quite easily write pages upon pages about the nursery but you have to see it to believe it!!! We just want to say thank you so very much for all you do keep up the excellent work.
Review of Holyrood Nursery Swinton  by Julia Robinson (Parent of 3 Year Old Daughter)The staff are fantastic! They are always supportive and informative on what your child has been doing in the day. I get observation sheets to show what my daughter has done and how she is getting on and hints and tips for activities to do at home. The variety of what my daughter learns is vast and she is so advanced for her age. The activities and classes they do are wonderful. My daughter comes home each day so excited to tell me what she has been doing – She even teaches me a thing or two! The food choices are so varied. She tries food I wouldn’t think to give her at home and enjoys it. The children also bake and make home made foods which is great because they see how different foods are made. There are lots of opportunities as a parent to get involved like Meet & Greets and Fun Days – I think this is very important. When the time is right for us to have another child I would definitely take them to Holyrood, Swinton and give them the best start in school life they could have. Keep up the fantastic work Holyrood, Swinton. I really appreciate all you do.
